1. The Government Subsidy Scheme
A government subsidy is paid for installation of residential photovoltaic power generation systems. A subsidy of 48,000 yen per kilowatt hour is provided in fiscal 2011, resulting in great savings on the installation price.

2. The Surplus Power Purchase System
This is a system under which electric power companies purchase surplus power at a premium rate higher than the ordinary purchase rate for a period of ten years. The premium rate for fiscal 2011 is 42 yen per kilowatt-hour, or 34 yen in the case of double power generation.
