Double Power Generation System

“Double power generation” is the term we use to refer to the combination of both solar power generation and ENEFARM systems, which enable electricity to be generated in the same place as it is used.

Double power generation systems prioritize use of power generated by the ENEFARM system, and supplement it with electricity generated by the solar power system when there is insufficient power. When the amount of power being consumed is low, energy needs are covered entirely by ENEFARM, enabling electricity generated by the solar power system to be sold to electric power companies, achieving a style of living that is kind to both to the environment and to household finances.

What is Double Power Generation?

Double power generation is a next-generation system that combines both solar power generation and ENEFARM systems, which enable electricity to be generated in the same place as it is used. The smart combination of solar power generation (which cannot generate electricity at night or on rainy days) and ENEFARM (which used automated learning and can generate power at any time) achieves a style of living that is kind to both to the environment and to household finances.

Double Power Generation Mechanism

1. System Configuration

2. Priority for Electricity Usage

  1. Electricity generated using ENEFARM
  2. Electricity generated using solar power
  3. Electricity purchased from the electric power company

Electricity can be used from the distribution board in priority order, from ENEFARM to solar power generation, depending on the household’s electricity usage. Where electricity generated by the solar power system is surplus to requirements, it can be sold to the electric power company.

Features of Double power generation

1. Environmental conservation benefits

Because double power generation allows power to be used where it is generated, combining ENEFARM (which generates electricity with low energy loss) and solar power systems (which generate electricity using the natural energy of sunlight) enables households to contribute further to reducing CO2 emissions.

*1: From operational data for a large-scale demonstration project for fixed fuel cells
*2: CO2 emissions are taken as 0.0587kg-CO2/MJ for LP gas and 0.69kg-CO2/kWh for electric power.
*3: Installation capacity for solar power systems is taken to be 4kW, and annual power generation to be 4,000kWh.
*4: CO2 emissions are taken to be 0.69kg-CO2/kWh for electric power and 0.04kg-CO2/kWh for power generated by solar power systems.

2. Economy

Surplus electricity generated but not used in the home can be sold to electric power companies. With double power generation, it is possible to cover the majority of electric power used around the home using ENEFARM. This means that much of the electricity generated using the solar power system can be sold to the electric power company, making it a very economical system.

3. Improving family awareness of saving energy and conserving the environment

It is possible for households to check the amount of electricity which they are generating, using and selling in real time via a dedicated double power generation energy monitor. This enables everyone in the family to enjoy working together to save energy and contribute to society.
