ITOCHU ENEX CO., LTD. (Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Tomofumi Yoshida, Representative Director, President and CEO) announces that it has introduced its self-consumption solar power generation service, TERASEL Solar, to Enokido Logistics Center of NUMAJIRI SANGYO Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Tsukuba-shi, Ibaraki; Toshimasa Numajiri, Representative Director, President).

 

This fixed-fee service installs solar power generation equipment on the rooftops of plants, warehouses, and other facilities to enable customers to consume the electricity they have generated themselves. In the current situation with every company being required to take environmental measures with the goal of establishing a carbon-free society by 2050, this business model enables customers to reduce CO₂ emissions and energy costs through the consumption of eco-friendly electricity they have generated themselves from renewable energy sources.

 

NUMAJIRI SANGYO Co., Ltd. has utilized the “Ibaraki Energy Shift Promotion Project Subsidy” provided by Ibaraki Prefecture to install TERASEL Solar to the center. The amount of power purchased at the center is expected to be cut by approximately 24% and CO₂ emissions by around 80 tons compared to the levels prior to the introduction of the services.
