ITOCHU ENEX Announces the Signing of an Agreement for its First Self-consumption Type Solar Power Generation Facility Project in Thailand

ITOCHU ENEX CO.,LTD. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Kenji Okada, Representative Director, President and CEO) announced today that its group company ITC ENEX (Thailand) Co., Ltd. will undertake the first project in Thailand to introduce its self-consumption type solar power generation facility to Senko Logistics Distribution (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a SENKO Group Holdings Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Koto-ku, Tokyo; Yasuhisa Fukuda, President and Representative Director) group company.

This project provides a service installing solar power generation equipment in plants, warehouses, and other facilities to enable customers to consume the electricity they have generated themselves.
In the current situation with every company being required to take environmental measures with the goal of establishing a carbon-free society by 2050, this business model enables customers to reduce CO2 emissions and energy costs through the consumption of eco-friendly electricity they have generated themselves from renewable energy sources.

As the expenses for the installation of the solar power generation equipment are borne by ITC ENEX (Thailand) Co., Ltd., this service does not require an initial investment from the customer. Further, it is very easy to introduce because the equipment use cost is a fixed monthly fee that includes maintenance and inspection costs.

In April 2020, we established ITC ENEX (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. for the expansion of our photovoltaic power generation and energy conservation businesses in Thailand and neighboring countries. In this initial project in Thailand, we will install solar power generation equipment with a total panel output of 172.8 kW at Senko Logistics Distribution (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Compared to the situation before the introduction of these panels, it is expected this project will reduce power consumption by approximately 33% and reduce CO2 emissions by an approximate average of 125.0 tons annually.

Going forward, our Group will provide this service to customers in Japan and also in Thailand and neighboring countries and will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through our corporate philosophy, "The Best Partner for Life and Society."
