ITOCHU ENEX Announces the Introduction of Its Captive Use Solar Power Generation Equipment at Two KOHNAN Home Centers
ITOCHU ENEX CO., LTD. (Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Kenji Okada, Representative Director, President and CEO) announces that it has introduced its captive use solar power generation equipment at home improvement centers operated by KOHNAN SHOJI Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Osaka-shi, Osaka; Naotaro Hikida, President).
This service installs solar power generation equipment in plants, warehouses, and other facilities to enable customers to consume the electricity they have generated themselves. In the current situation with every company being required to take environmental measures with the goal of establishing a carbon-free society by 2050, this business model enables customers to reduce CO2 emissions and energy costs through the consumption of eco-friendly electricity they have generated themselves from renewable energy sources.
Captive use solar power generation equipment has been installed at two Home Center KOHNAN locations operated by KOHNAN SHOJI: the Daito Shinden location (Daito-shi, Osaka) and the Niihama location (Niihama-shi, Ehime). Compared to before, it is expected this project will reduce power consumption by approximately 30% (average between the two stores) and reduce CO2 emissions by an approximate average of 327 tons (both stores combined) annually. ITOCHU ENEX will bear the installation costs of the solar power generation equipment and will handle the burdensome task of managing and maintaining the equipment, making this model extremely easy for customers to introduce.
Through this service, ITOCHU ENEX will further strengthen its cooperation with KOHNAN SHOJI, actively promote solar power generation, and, together with KOHNAN SHOJI, contribute towards the realization of a sustainable society.
