The Usage of “Renewable Diesel” at Race Events for the Realization of Carbon Neutrality
Japan Race Promotion and Itochu Enex Forge Partnership Agreement

Japan Race Promotion, Inc. (JRP), the promoter for SUPER FORMULA and Itochu Enex, Inc. have forged a partnership agreement for the realization of carbon neutrality. JRP will use Itochu Enex’s “Renewable diesel*1” in generators during SUPER FORMULA Rd. 5 at SUGO in some of the event areas.

Itochu Enex is the top partner for SUPER FORMULA carenex TEAM IMPUL (TEAM IMPUL), and through their “IMPUL Denki” efforts for clean energy which is easy on the environment, beginning this season, the team is the first in Japan to use “renewable diesel” in its generators at racing circuits. JRP and Itochu Enex through their new partnership will further enhance the strives that TEAM IMPUL has made.

JRP, in order to contribute to a sustainable motorsports industry, and for SUPER FORMULA to become one of the leading racing categories in the world, has announced the SUPER FORMULA NEXT50 *2 project in which they have made partnerships and are working with fans to provide the solutions being called for from motorsports in the future.

*1: About “Renewable Diesel”
Achieves up to 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2 on a life cycle assessment basis compared to petroleum-derived gas oil, and can be used in current vehicles and refueling facilities as a so-called "drop-in" fuel.

*2 About the SUPER FORMULA NEXT50 Project
JRP, on October 25, 2021, along with Honda and TOYOTA began this project to create a sustainable motorsports industry for the future. 2022 marks the 50th anniversary since the start of the top category of formula racing in Japan, under the vision of "driver's first", "longing for speed", "fun of competing" and "joy of winning" which has been learned over these past 50 years, this project will promote various initiatives aimed at motorsports that will be needed in society in the future, such as the development of carbon neutrality and sports entertainment.
