Commencing Support Services for Visualization of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

ITOCHU ENEX CO., LTD. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Kenji Okada, Representative Director, President and CEO; hereinafter, the “Company”) hereby announces the conclusion of a consignment agreement (the “Agreement”) regarding support services for the visualization of greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions with The Bank of Yokohama, Ltd. (headquartered in Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa; Tatsuya Kataoka, President and Representative Director; hereinafter, the “Bank”).
The first step for a company’s decarbonization corporate management is to visualize those GHG emissions.
Since January 2022, the Company and the Bank have been performing verification tests regarding the estimation of GHG emissions and support services for the visualization of GHG emissions for three clients of the Bank, utilizing the cloud service “zeroboard” developed by Zeroboard Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Michitaka Tokeiji, Representative Director; hereinafter, “Zeroboard”). The conclusion of the Agreement is the outcome after the introduction of zeroboard and visualization of GHG emissions based on the support of the Company.
Under the Agreement, the Company will provide services for the visualization of GHG emissions and support services for the introduction of solutions to reduce GHG emissions in the Banks’s initiative for its clients “SDGs Business Feasibility Assessed by Experts.”
The Company will use its strengths of having a broad industrial network across Japan and low-carbon/carbon-free products and services to seek to become an environmental solution provider that can support GHG emissions estimates, propose solutions for visualization and reduction, and provide comprehensive packages for environmental value. The Company will also contribute to the creation of a carbon-neutral society based on its corporate philosophy “the best partner for life and society.”
