ITOCHU ENEX Introduces TERASEL Solar, a Self-consumption Solar Power Generation Service, to the Headquarters Factory No.2 of Ichimasa Kamaboko Co., Ltd.

ITOCHU ENEX CO., LTD. (Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Tomofumi Yoshida, Representative Director, President and CEO; hereafter, “The Company”) announces that it has introduced its self-consumption solar power generation service, TERASEL Solar, to the Headquarters Factory No.2 of Ichimasa Kamaboko Co., Ltd. (Headquartered in Niigata-shi, Niigata; Masahiro Nozaki, Representative Director, President and CEO).

This fixed-fee service installs solar power generation equipment on the rooftops of plants, warehouses, and other facilities to enable customers to consume the electricity they have generated themselves. In the current situation with every company being required to take environmental measures with the goal of establishing a carbon-free society by 2050, this business model enables customers to reduce CO2 emissions and energy costs through the consumption of eco-friendly electricity they have generated themselves from renewable energy sources.

In addition to the solar power generation equipment, co-generation systems (hereinafter “CGS”) offered by Tokyo Toshi Service Co., Ltd., which is an ITOCHU ENEX Group company have been also introduced to the headquarters factory. The amount of power purchased at the headquarters factory is expected to be cut by approximately 58% and CO2 emissions by around 2,500 tons compared to the levels prior to the introduction of the two services.
* CGS is one of the private power generation facilities. It takes advantage of exhaust heat generated from power generation to improve overall energy efficiency.

The Group will further strengthen its ties with Ichimasa Kamaboko through these services, contributing to the creation of a sustainable society by continuing to provide a range of environmental products centered on the self-consumption solar power generation service, TERASEL Solar.
