*1 The Eco Mark applies to products that are recognized as having a low environmental impact throughout their life cycle, from production to disposal, and that contribute to environmental conservation. The goal is to create a sustainable society by encouraging consumers to make environmentally conscious product choices and by encouraging related companies to make efforts to improve the environment. Eco Mark is Japan’s only Type I environmental label certified by a third party in accordance with international standards (ISO 14024).
*2 Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a renewable fuel produced by Neste from 100% renewable raw materials, such as waste and residue oils and fats, such as used cooking oil. The use of Neste MY Renewable Diesel can result in up to 90%* reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over the fuel’s life cycle as compared to fossil diesel (calculation method: EU Renewable Energy Directive). Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a "drop-in" fuel that is compatible with existing diesel-powered vehicles and fuel infrastructures, not requring any modifications to them. Neste MY Renewable Diesel is already widely available e.g. in Europe and the United States. The renewable fuel can minimize the introduction cost related to decarbonization measures and greatly contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions, hence further utilization of renewable diesel in the transportation industry is expected in the future. ITOCHU ENEX is working with ITOCHU Corporation to promote renewable diesel in Japan.

*) The GHG emission reduction percentage varies depending on the region-specific legislation that provides the methodology for the calculations (e.g. EU RED II 2018/2001/EU for Europe and U.S. California LCFS for the U.S.), and the raw material mix used to manufacture the product for each market.
*3 Eco Mark Product Category No. 165 Classification A, biodiesel fuel consisting of hydrocarbons produced from fats and oils, targets biodiesel fuel consisting of hydrocarbons produced from fats and oils, an alternative fuel to fossil diesel used for diesel engines in automobiles, heavy machinery, generators, etc. As a condition for the certification, the biodiesel fuel must emit fewer greenhouse gases over its life cycle than light oil. The application reception for certification assessment started from January 2023.
