Notice Regarding the Establishment of a Sustainability Committee
ITOCHU ENEX CO.,LTD. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director President and Chief Executive Officer: Kenji Okada; hereafter "Itochu Enex") will established a Sustainability Committee to be chaired by a Director and Senior Managing Officer on May 1, 2021, in order to further strengthen its sustainability efforts.
Based on its management philosophy, "The Best Partner for Life and Society - with Energy, with the Car, with the Home -," Itochu Enex established its Group Environmental Policy in 2002, and has been taking ongoing Group-wide action on the environment to help realize a better global environment and to promote coexistence with society. Additionally, to tackle issues to climate change and the global environment in a focused and timely manner, in April 2021 we established the Carbon Neutral Strategy Division, a department directly under the President and Chief Executive Officer, and the Sustainability Office, a dedicated organization promoting responses to sustainability issues. The newly established Sustainability Committee will deliberate on and monitor sustainability issues from long-term perspectives as an advisory body to the Management Advisory Conference, and serve a pivotal role in executing and driving Group-wide sustainability management strategies.

To achieve a sustainable society, environmental measures such as carbon neutrality are inevitable, and are expected to increasingly take root as global standards in the future. Meanwhile, there are strong demands on companies to implement sustainable growth initiatives.
The Itochu Enex Group has declared the firm establishment of its environmental and energy business as one of the basic policies in SHIFT!2022, its new mid-term management plan. As part of these efforts, we will make forays into untapped areas with environmental products, electricity and various forms of energy while enhancing and expanding our low-carbon and decarbonized products to accelerate sustainability endeavors. Moving forward, we will continue to make Group-wide contributions to achieve a decarbonized society and solve various social issues that relate to sustainability.
