ITOCHU ENEX Announces Commencement of Electric Power Supply from Renewable Energy (Off-site PPA Service) to I-NET Corp.
ITOCHU ENEX CO., LTD. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Tomofumi Yoshida, Representative Director, President and CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU ENEX”) announces that it commenced supplying electricity generated at the solar power plants developed and owned by ITOCHU ENEX (off-site PPA service) to I-NET Corp. (headquartered in Yokohama, Kanagawa; Tomomichi Saeki, Representative Director, Executive President; hereinafter “I-NET”).
As part of the realization of a decarbonized society and the popularization of renewable energy, ITOCHU ENEX is promoting the business of utilizing non-FIT electric power supply by installing solar power generation equipment on the rooftop of i Missions Park, the logistics facilities developed and operated by ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO) and ITOCHU Property Development, Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Norio Matsu, President).
As an off-site PPA service, ITOCHU ENEX began supplying electricity from renewable energy generated on the rooftop of i Missions Park Kazo and i Missions Park Yoshikawa Minami to I-NET 1st Data Center on January 1, 2024.
The service will replace approximately 20% of the electric power consumed by I-NET 1st Data Center with renewable energy.
Off-site PPA services allow users to use electricity from renewable energy even if the place where the power is generated is distant from the place where the electricity is needed. ITOCHU ENEX will continue to promote renewable energy and grow this business as an initiative for the realization of decarbonized society.
