ITOCHU ENEX Announces Start of Use of GTL Fuel in Asphalt Plant of Large Road Company
- First Delivery to a Private Refueling Facility in an Asphalt Plant in Kyushu -

ITOCHU ENEX CO., LTD. (Headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Tomofumi Yoshida, Representative Director, President and CEO; hereinafter "ITOCHU ENEX") announces that GTL Fuel sold by ITOCHU ENEX is now being used in burners^*1 in operation at the Omuta Asphalt Plant (Omuta, Fukuoka Prefecture; hereinafter, “Omuta Plant”), operated by SUMIKEN MITSUI ROAD CO., LTD. (Headquartered in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Hajime Hasui, Representative Director, President, Executive President; hereinafter, “SUMIKEN MITSUI ROAD”).

SUMIKEN MITSUI ROAD began using GTL Fuel in heavy machinery at its plants last year. GTL Fuel was delivered and refueled when it needed. Using the opportunity with the relocation of its plant within Omuta Ecotown as a community-based plant taking action to reduce environmental impact, it switched from a tank built within the plant to on-site refueling of GTL Fuel on April 28 of this year. This is the first time GTL Fuel has been delivered to a private refueling facility within an asphalt plant in Kyushu.

SUMIKEN MITSUI ROAD is aiming for a decarbonized society through reducing CO₂ emissions as it works towards contributing to the global environment as established in the company's Corporate Philosophy. This initiative will further their efforts by expanding usage of GTL Fuel to include burners, as well as heavy machinery.
